Krause began studying drama when she was an undergraduate student, before appearing in Broadway as well as off Broadway productions. Her passion for art began at an early age when she studied dance at the Washington School of Ballet, Washington D.C. She then moved on to perform in a variety of musicals and plays by Bill Russell and Henry Krieger including Side Show. Krause attended at the Carnegie Mellon Drama School after graduation from high school. Krause's professional journey began after she felt confident.
