Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actress best recognized for her role as detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue in which she was awarded an Emmy Award. The most notable role she has played is her role as a character in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the child of an executive at the United Auto Workers who was also the mother of her children. Delaney has four older brothers. While she had a childhood goal of becoming journalist, it wasn't until her high school years that Delaney began to model. When she moved from New York City and gaining experiences in commercials at New York did she achieve the career as aspiring court reporters. As a teenager her first appearance as an actress came in the 1980 soap opera All My Children. Delaney has appeared in a variety of TV movies, film and dramas after that. Like her career, her personal life hasn't been easy or prosperous. The talented actress has had to deal with alcoholism throughout her life and has been through two divorces. In 2005, she was denied the custody of her only son.
